Frequently Asked Questions
This is a collection of answers to the questions we are asked most often.
When will my order ship?
Most orders ship within 1 to 3 business days after being placed. Products are shipped via Priority Mail by the U.S. Postal Service which estimates delivery in an additional 1 to 3 business days. On average, you should expect your order to arrive 5 to 7 business days after it was placed.
Why does the item price keep changing as I customize the embroidery?
The item price is calculated based on the cost of the item being embroidered and also the size and complexity of the embroidery (e.g. number of stitches and colors in the design). So when you add or change lettering for example, this will potentially change the number of stitches in the design having an effect on the final price. We charge an additional $1.00 per each extra 1000 stitches beyond the initial 8000 stitches included with the item. There may also be a small additional charge added if a large number of different thread colors are used.
How do I contact customer support?

Where do I leave feedback?
Please send us e-mail at the above address to let us know about your experience using our website. We soon will be creating a specific web page for you to leave comments in the future. We are very interested in hearing your comments and making your experience better.
Can I ship one of my own garments to have you place embroidery on it?
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer this as a service.
What is your return policy?
Because of the customized nature of products ordered from our website we cannot accept returned merchandise. Please double check spelling, size, colors, and all other pertinent information before placing your order.

Binghamton-based Soft Sight, Inc. raises $1 million in venture capital, prepares for product launch and rapid growth
Vestal, NY – February 14, 2008 – Soft Sight, Inc., a Binghamton
area technology company and operator of the
Threadsmith.com online custom embroidery business,
announced today that the company has raised $1 million
in venture capital. The investment round was led
by High Peaks Venture Partners of Troy, NY, with
participation from the New York State Common Retirement
Fund and the New York office of Advantage Capital
Partners. The funds will be used to extend the
company’s online capabilities, launch a comprehensive
sales & marketing program, and fund the expansion of the
company’s management and technical teams.
Concurrent with the investment, High Peaks Managing
Director Brad Svrluga and Advantage Managing Director
Scott Murphy have joined the company's board of
directors.
Threadsmith was founded by Dr. David Goldman, who
received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Binghamton
University in 1998. Having grown up around the
embroidery business Dr. Goldman realized early on the
shortcomings of the existing technology in the market
and set out to develop a better solution. The
company was initially a software provider to embroidery
operations, but changed its business model in the past
year when the technical collaboration between Goldman
and CTO Nirav Patel led to the development of an
internet-based, direct to consumer and small business
strategy. When it launches in Q2 of this year
Threadsmith.com’s “Design Foundry” will be the only
place in the market where individuals and small
businesses can design custom-embroidered apparel in
real-time using their own logos or other artwork. Orders
will be placed instantly, and delivered faster and at
lower costs than previously feasible. The entire
process from uploading a customer’s graphics to order
completion and processing will take place in a matter of
minutes, all without any human intervention, rather than
the costly, multi-day process standard in the industry
today. The launch of the Threadsmith Design
Foundry will establish the company as the leading online
provider of customized embroidered apparel for the
business and consumer markets.
Threadsmith founder David Goldman commented that “This
investment marks the beginning of a very exciting new
stage for our business and validation of a concept that
we have poured our hearts and souls into bringing to
fruition. There is an enormous opportunity sitting
before us for the taking, and our new Threadsmith Design
Foundry offering has the potential to fundamentally
change the way business is done in the $8 billion custom
embroidery market. We couldn’t be more excited
about our prospects, and about the shared vision for
this opportunity that our new venture capital partners
have. High Peaks and Advantage are terrific partners,
and we are thrilled to have access to all of the
resources they provide as we work to build our business.
The capital is a key, but the advisory and other
resources they provide are equally valuable. The
addition of Brad and Scott to our team has already had
significant impact on our business. While we are
fully aware that we have a long way to go in building
towards our ultimate vision, we are excited by the great
strength that this investment and new partnership brings
to our business.”
Brad Svrluga, Managing Director of lead investor High
Peaks Venture Partners remarked, “Threadsmith represents
an extremely exciting opportunity to create a new
solution for the custom embroidery market that truly is
better, faster, and cheaper. The Threadsmith
technology is powerful and unique, and gives the company
a tremendous advantage in the marketplace. This is
a perfect example of the sorts of opportunities that get
us excited as investors – working with great
entrepreneurs to use innovative, proprietary technology
to build a disruptive new business model in a large and
growing market. What David and his team have
created is the beginning of something truly special and
we are thrilled to be partnering with him to build the
business.”
